Tiger Shrimp Tempura
The food was excellent and our server was very knowledgeable and helpful. We also saw a show that was FANTASTIC!!! Yoshi’s for the WIN!!!
Definitely coming back I really enjoyed the show afterwards.
We love Yoshi's to see the jazz and it's always good food when we eat there. The staff are great.
Yoshi's is such a cool place. We love to eat here. before a show. The service is great and the sushi is yummy and fairly priced. The decor is stylish and the crowd is diverse.
excellent food in the dining area. plus, excellent entertainment by Benny Green.
We went for a friends birthday on a Monday night. Food was good and service was great. Would definitely go back.
Great food and music venue.
Nick was wonderful. Celebration of our 40th wedding anniversary was absolutely Perfect.
Thank you for making us feel very special.
The show was outstanding.
Amazing evening. Delicious food and knowledgeable staff. Robin made sure that our every wish was fulfilled
Yoshi good. Not Yoshi bad. Tee hee he he he he he.
Yoshi's never fails to please. It is particularly great to dine there before a show.
Great food followed by a great show. Perfect combination.
I went there for by birthday and everything was amazing! I honestly cannot wait to come back!
We were coming for a show & dinner and arrived early, as we were concerned about SF traffic coming across to Oakland. We went to the bar at 5:00 and happy hour was great with $7.00 drinks and tasty fresh snacks, including a fresh salmon & avocado roll for $6.00.
Dinner was suprisingly good! There are several sushi rolls that are unique and delicious. Don't miss the black cod & the hamachi crudo.
The room is huge and inviting...amazing they can handle it all at once with timing being essential to make show times. My guess is at least 200 dining seats and sold out.
And the sound in the showroom is top rate and room intimate...about 250 seats. 90% great seats except for first row (too close to the speakers and artists) and far corners near the stage. Fabulous night and we can't wait to go back!
We've been to Yoshi's many times to see live music, but hadn't had dinner there due to our being vegetarian and assuming that there wouldn't be a lot for us. Boy were we wrong! There are many fabulous vegetarian options and what we had was fantastic! I highly recommend Yoshi's for the food and, of course, fantastic entertainment too.
We will be back!!
It was awesome seeing Dave Matthews last night. Thanks Dave and other players it was an amazing show. Loved that my husband Mark Irwin got to play on Yoshi's stage.
Great place. Plus the music venue. Not a bad seat in the house .
Parking is fantastic
Wanted the cedar plank salmon and the hotate but no hotate. Server suggest the blackened cod. Great suggestion, great taste. Was delicious and enjoyed every bite. Was quiet when we got there but as the place filled up, it got pretty loud. At one point, they played the live "music" coming from the show and it overpowered everything and everyone. It was rap and it's not my favorite and they shut it off about 2 minutes later, thankfully. All in all, very good and the food was very good!
The freight AND passenger trains going by were cute at first...but after 12 trains in an hour? It got old.
We had wonderful service and ambience with delicious food and beverages. Overall, this was a great experience.
Bummed about our experience on Saturday. I have been going to Yoshi's for years, both for dinner and shows. I just moved back to the Bay, and I brought my partner here for his birthday celebration because I thought it would be a sure bet. We were not told that they were out of a dish we were really looking forward to until we were ready to order entrees, and we rearranged our entree order. No problem. Then we find out that our server had accidentally never put in the entrees. It got busy, things happen, pretty irritating but OK. The issue is that we were told twice that the entrees would come out any moment, because they didn't take long to make, but then waited a full 30 minutes for them, with little contact from our server. We had to skip out on birthday dessert to meet our friends since we were delayed by the entree. Then we get the full bill with no comment on waiting for a full 30 minutes for entrees. I appreciate that things are tough during the pandemic, but if you make that type of mistake, it seems customary for it to be handled well without us as patrons having to be in a position where we have to be the bad guy and complain. The very worst part of this, besides the buzzkill, was how INCREDIBLE the cod was when it finally came, and how we could not even enjoy it because we were so bummed about the service. I appreciate that management comped 25% of the bill in the end, and I do think that Yoshi's is usually better than this, but being put in the position of having to mention our disappointment before there was any attempt at customer service was a real bummer when the issue was so flagrant, since it was very clearly a birthday dinner that we were trying to enjoy and it has, much to my chagrin, made me think twice about coming here.
Yoshi’s is always great food.
Great ambiance, good food. Loved the show. Will always be a loyal patron of Yoshi's, an Oakland staple.
bad service .. food was so so
We love Yoshis and enjoyed our dinner with friends there recently. I would give it 5 stars but everyone’s miso soup wa served lukewarm at best.
got there early for a show. Empty at first but totally filled up by 6:30. The cocktails were great, sashimi was perfect and the shrimp frittery thing my partner had was superb.
We were absolutely shocked that Yoshi’s didn’t check for Covid vaccinations AND packed people so close together.
There were twelve people within six feet of us.
So disappointed. We have been going here for years and won’t be returning until Covid is gone.
always like the location, quality of food and the service. Having a venue there is also an all around good thing. Have enjoyed all the artist we've gone to see.
We had dinner before the show on a Sunday night and were quite pleased. My wife had the Vegatable Tempura and I had the Jack London Sushi Roll and we found them to be very good, although my wife would have preferred more sauce for the rice. We had Isaac for our server and he was very attentive and knowledgable and took very good care of us. We had dinner at 5 and were rdone in time for a leasurely stroll to the show at 6:30.
Food was great but our server sucked we asked for water 3-4 times she never got it for us had to find someone else to get us the water also asked for silverware multiple times. She never once came to ask us if we needed anything. Only saw her when she took the order… when we got our drinks and the check !!
Wonderful food and atmosphere. Show was great also!
The smoked cod was out of this world. To make cod fall apart is not easy
The wait staff was very courteous and knowledgable about what to order. Also great to get a good seat for the show!
Awesome service, great food and good selection of red wine.
Food was better the last time that we went here. It was OK, but not the BEST.
Everything was great; however there was a miscommunication with the staff in regards to our seating for the J. Holiday show. We weren’t assigned a table for the show because we were never given a seating assignment - they forgot to do that for us. I spoke with the lady in the front and she said to talk to Jonah? Well the people inside the show didn’t care, so they seated us in the back although there was a table near the front, which I mentioned. Quite disappointing since we purposely dined at Yoshi’s not only for the good food, but for the accommodation they normally make for patrons attending the show.
From check in, seating, service and show, the level of customer service received was above expectations. The food was phenomenal and fresh. We cannot wait to return.
Dinner was great. The restaurant was super crowded as there was a concert that night.
Tables are small. Other patrons are super duper close. No space between tables and the restaurant can fill up fast especially if an event is scheduled for the club. Wait staff is attentive and a plate will not be left on your table so be sure to let the busser know if you don’t want it snatched away.
We had a wonderful evening at Yoshi’s last night. Dinner was amazing and the show was outstanding.
The food was good and the service was real fast, however you feel rushed for the price you pay for dinner. Also I was a little disappointed that the seats for the concert. Too many people jammed at a table.
