Zambri's Ratings and Reviews
Although the service was lovely and the food great, there was no pizza left by the time we ordered. The biggest complaint I have however was the sound. I had a VERY RARE night out without my loud children, and unfortunately there was one woman(guest) who was loud beyond reason. Beyond words, actually. Even though she was on the other side of the resto, she ruined our experience. It was impossible to talk together. The waitstaff and other guests were aware, but did not ask her to be more respectful. As this was my one night out for a long time, it was very disappointing.
zambri's gets that much of their lunch time traffic is on a lunch break. My sandwich was okay; I wil probably pick something else next time
My husband and I both had the evening's special which was meat lasagne and it was delicious and a good healthy portion. We both took some home for lunch. Also had a lovely refreshing salad (insalata mista).
Good food, well presented and well served. We had the four course sharing meal, paired with a nice bottle of red wine. The choices offered gave us a good variety and a great way to taste a selection.
The pasta 3 course dinner for 2 was fantastic. I would highly recommend it.
We asked by phone if they could accommodate vegan and they said they could. But they could not! We ordered an appetizer of cherry tomatoes which we had to return because they were covered with olive oil, no problem for most but definitely for a vegan. When we asked what entrees they could alter to be vegan, we got a reluctant response, saying that removing certain non-vegan ingredients would ruin the dishes. The point is we were assured by phone that they 'serve a lot of vegans' which seemed a fib at first hand. I found my pork dish (I'm the non-vegan) sort of acceptable but not $30 worth of wonderful. By the time they offered to alter another dish or create a new one for my vegan niece, she was tired of the jousting and ordered a simple pasta with tomato sauce. Disappointed in what was supposed to be a special Thanksgiving dinner.
Great pasta, simple menu
Can expand menu of desserts
I took a friend out for preconceived dinner. The food was well presented and the service friendly, the meal was enjoyable, and preparation well conceived
Zambris is consistently excellent. The crispy pork shoulder is a gem, as is their beef striploin.
The wine selection is nice. I'm not too well versed in wines, but they rotate the list fairly often and each time I get something, it's very good. Much better than I'd normally expect.
The front staff is far away from the canned 'Hi my name is Steve and I'll be your server tonight' sort of stuff, and far more personable, intuitive, and on top of things. They're great.
I think you'll enjoy virtually any food or drink there. It's very underrated in Victoria (at least amongst people I know).
we had a great time, food was good, waiter was attentive, atmosphere very nice, cozy and romantic.
Nice upscale. Great food and service.
Near perfect romaine lettuce in Caesar salad. Pastas very nicely done and served hot. Nicely done.
Had a great dinner with my mom and girlfriend. They were a bit dealyed in seating us but the food and wine were amazing! The restaurant is a bit noisy but I think it adds to the ambiance and feel they are going for. Would definitely come back again for a special occasion if some kind.
Everything was excellent!!! Food, setting & service were tremendous! Received wonderful suggestions that were delicious. We were able to visit and enjoy eating without being hurried. Service was attentive but not intrusive. A marvelous experience. If we ever return to Victoria this will be our first stop.
This is a favourite local Italian spot for us. On our last visit, the bread, olives, and food were excellent as always. The noise level was almost too high for conversation - installing a noise cancelling machine would go a long way to making the room comfortable. The only other problem we had: we wanted 1/2 litre of red wine. And the place was out of nearly all of them! We settled for one they had, and it was nice enough, but come on, this is an Italian restaurant! Red wine should be flowing from the taps!
Unique offerings based on traditional Italian dishes. Large, and I mean large, portions. As a pastry chef I especially enjoyed the desserts
Knew Zambri's before it moved to the Atrium as great food, for great dollar value, in funky self-serve, informal setting. Meal at last sitting was very ordinary for price. Location is interesting for people watching, but restaurant atmosphere itself borders on pretentious. Lost it's soul.
Always amazing!! I have been a customer since November 2015 and have never been disappointed. Great food, incredible service, and tremendous value for the price.
Good evening. Great service. We had a wonderful dinner.
The poor service made the overall dining experience less than enjoyable.
Great service, delicious food.
The service here was especially great. Our server was very knowledgeable and friendly.
The food was perfectly timed and of excellent quality.
This is definitely on my list of restaurants to return to.
Best Italian restaurant in Victoria by far. Fantastic wine selection and perfect pasta
Let me start by saying that our Caesar salad was the most awesome tasting freshly made delight we've ever had the pleasure of eating. The bread and olives are also exceptionally delish! But our entrees were so plain and truly lacked much flavor -- always a disappointment but even more so when there's a fairly hefty pricetag. Lastly, we looked forward to having polenta -- which we asked to come without sauce. It's such a delicate flavor we were again deeply disappointed when it arrived drowned in brown butter which truly overwhelmed it even after pouring off as much as possible.
Food was great so was the service. Have been a few times and will be back again
Our evening was ruined by the poor service. We were forgotten while other people arrived later and were served. When we complained our witness said it was her fault and apologized, but our evening plans were ruined.
Zambri's is well loved by locals and lauded by food publications is a superb authentic Italian restaurant. Worth the splurge. Excellent wine selection. Ask your server about pairings if you need a little guidance.
We had great service, great food and a very niece environment. The serving staff were particularly attentive. We did not have to ask for anything. We will be back and we will not hesitate to recommend it to friends.
Highly recommend this little gem. Prompt service, very polite and good value and taste if you are looking for Italian. Reservation recommended.
Excellent food and drink menu. Some Italian peasant food finds that you won't see on many menus. Aglio Olio pasta was as close to Christmas pasta as you'll find in a restaurant.
Very tasty. Prompt service. Exceptional value. Great Italian restaurant. Comparable to Il Tarrazzo, although hard for a new building to compete with their heritage building.
This dinner was for a friends birthday dinner. We did the 4 course dinner for 2. Wonderful value, wonderful service and incredible food as always!
We had a great meal at Zambris! The food was amazing and we had great service. We were seated at a private, quiet table as I had mentioned in my reservation that it was our anniversary. My only complaint is that it took a long time for us to be seated even though we had a reservation! We reserved for 6:30 and weren't seated until around 7.
We wanted a great night out with good atmosphere and delicious food as we had some family in town from Toronto for a brief visit. They absolutely loved Zambris and remarked that there was nothing comparable in Toronto. Our server was kind enough to take a picture of the group of us at the end of the evening, too. Zambris never disappoints. See you again soon!
Delicious food every time, beautifully presented. Very friendly staff and a gorgeous environment
Pork, pizza, dessert. All amazing.
Good looking servers 😋👌🏻
I was looking forward to the seafood special but was informed they were out of mussels and clams so I ordered the filet mignon"medium rare". Which was cooked well done so I sent it back. The replacement was fine. They also didn't have the wine we ordered . My wife ordered the rockfish which I found to be overly salty. They did comp us a salad for apologies sake. Not a very impressive anniversary dinner to say the least but we will most definitely remember it.
Excellent food and service. Really friendly atmosphere and food choices were extensive without being too ambitious. And the food came quickly. We were impressed with all!
The service was great, our waitress was helpful and available but didn't linger. The food exceeded my expectations, was homemade and original.
The only room for improvement, and this is just my personal option, a few more selections on the wine list would make it a 5 star all around. What was on the list was great, it was just that they were out of a few so the choices were more limited.
Over all great experience and I will be back.
Zambris is a nice treat for before the movies. It is across the street from the newly renovated Cap6 and the view street parkade close by makes it easy to find parking(free after 6pm). The food here has never failed to impress and they have a knack for making the simplest dishes delicious. Their negrinos are better than what I could find in Italy, so it goes to show that you dont need to travel aboard for authentic Italian.
Recommended by the desk clerk at out hotel who even made the reservation for us. Great call. We had the 4-course shared special with the spaghetti aglio y olio and the chicken. The spaghetti was spicy, perfect for me, but perhaps a bit too much for my wife. The chicken was good, very black peppery and enjoyable. Across the board the staff was very friendly and enjoyable to interact with. There were some large groups, including children, when we were there so the noise level was a little high, but I don't know how common that is.
