Service lacked considering the price of food
We were here with friends on a weekend get away. Our meal was included as part of a promotional hotel rate and we ordered off a special menu which included 3 courses. We did not expect the value we received as this was after all a reduced price! The meal was beautifully presented, the portion sizes VERY generous and it was delicious. The staff were extremely friendly and accommodating. The atmosphere was quiet, elegant and relaxed. We would definitely return for another visit.
We arrived earlier for our table and it was no problem, the waitress took us straight in. It was fairly busy however the room was warm and like the waitress very welcoming.
The service was very efficient and the food was equally as good coming to the table in good time and very hot too.
As always a great visit to Zees.
First time there, would not go back. Four people three meals were fine. The fourth which was supposed to be short ribs was not that cut of meat. It looked like two huge bones that you would give your dog. My husband said it was very grissley and lacked flavour.
We enjoyed our dinner very much. The waiter was timely and attentive, the food was hot, fresh and delicious. Would highly recommend.
Laura was an amazing server. She was knowledgeable about her menu and an amazing young woman. Zees has an outstanding menu and there was nothing we did not enjoy. We love food and we love Zees. We are just sorry that our chef was not able to make an appearance but that is not a criticism. We WILL be back.
Excellent food and we had a great server (John) . I enjoyed the chicken and hubby had short ribs
Our dinner was fabulous! Wonderful options are available for every taste. We devoured the surf and turf as well as the rootbeer-braised short ribs! Heavenly flavours and great service. Always a highlight of our trip to the region. Our fireplace table was prefect for a drizzly Saturday night too!
We went for Fabulicious it was amazing everything was full of flavour and presented very nicely. The staff was very friendly from the host to our server Joe. The whole experience made for a great night out with friends.
3 of us were there for lunch.
2 of us enjoyed our meals - Caesar salad one of best I've had. The burger was very good. I enjoyed the chicken/roasted vegetable wrap but my wife didn't - not enough chicken. Her squash soup was very thin and too peppery - pepper was all she tasted- not what she'd expected.
I'm not impressed with the Fabulicious lunch when only 2 courses are included. Found this lunch overpriced when we added dessert. I certainly would not object to raising the 25 dollar price and include dessert.
We've been to Zee's before and enjoyed our meals. After the meal this time not sure if we'd return. We were there the last day of Fabulicious and maybe that was the problem. Service was excellent.
FOOD WAS EXCELLENT,STAFF AMAZING,MY ONLY NEGATIVE COMMENT IS THE NOISE LEVEL AS THE RESTAURANT WAS FULL AND A BIT HARD TO CONVERSE, OTHERWISE I WILL CERTAINLY RETURN.
Delicious. Love Zee’s. Been going for years and they never disappoint
This restaurant had pretty good food, but the overall feeling was impersonal. The dining area is just one big room with tables crammed in. We were right next to another couple which was a little awkward. The noise level was loud with a lot of echo. I prefer a more intimate, quiet setting for a nice dinner.
My daughter and I enjoyed the food, excellent service and ambience during our evening at Zees.
Arrived for a two pm reservation with two 90 year olds. Waitress rushed us to order immediately as kitchen had closed and was keeping it open for our order. Wish we had known it would be rushed prior.
What else to say. Everything was amazyfrim food, service, ambiave !!!! All amazing will definitely go back when I am in Niagra on the Lake
This restaurant was recommended to us. We enjoyed our dishes, I had the arctic char and my husband had the beef short rib. The portions were very plentiful. The food was delicious and the staff were really helpful and very good.
We thoroughly enjoyed our pre-theatre lunch at Zee's Grill. The meal was very tasty and nicely presented. I appreciated the small size of the dining room, which felt intimate and was not too noisy. The fireplace gave a lovely ambiance on a fall day.
Food was good but I told the server BEFORE we ordered that I had a $50 food credit, she seemed a little confused but didn't say anything else. Then AFTER we were done with our meal, the manager came over and said the $50 only applied for dinner. That's fine but it would have been better if they told us that before ordering so we could have decided if we even wanted to stay there for breakfast considering the food credit didn't apply.
We visited For lunch before a play at the Shaw. This was the best part of the visit as it is located just across the street from the theatre.
We had reviewed the menu on line. The menu given to us was the same. Obviously they keep their web site current, a good thing (too many don’t).
After finalizing our selection we ordered glasses of wine. The Cab Franc was quite tasty but the sparkling was vey flat which detracted from the taste. The portion size was more than acceptable and lasted through a leisurely paced lunch.
We had 2 appetizers, calimari and soup. As with the wine, the portions were good. The soup was very hot and tasty. Unfortunately the calimari, while quite tasty, was on the chewy side.
For an entree we split the cheese board. Everything was very enjoyable. The only comment I have is that there were a lot of crackers. Reducing the quantity of these and perhaps adding a third cheese or additional meat would have greatLy enhanced our enjoyment.
The restaurant was cold, so cold overcoats we required. Otherwise the experience was acceptable and quick fitting in with our theatre experience well.
Zee's is our go to before shows at the Shaw Festival. It never disappoints, and has some of the best servers we find anywhere, always friendly and prompt. The food is varied and tasty, and a great wine selection.
Good food, good service as always. Would have liked to sit on the terrace but was full. Décor inside is ok but not great. Noise level was very good
Meals were great nice presentation lots of flavour. Would definitely go again
Second time having dinner there, and both times were fantastic.
I was recommended this restaurant by a friend as I wanted somewhere special to go while visiting Niagra falls for my mum's 60th birthday and it did not disappoint! The food was delicious and the service was excellent. It also happened to be my Dad's birthday on the day we went and they were very good at making my parents feel special for their birthdays.
Great location for a pre-theatre lunch. Good service and menu. Our fourth visit to Zees this summer & fall. Enjoy the verandah and patio setting, and parking at the Shaw Club.
Great food and excellent service but the price was a bit steep.
Came to Zees over the long weekend on a recommendation from a colleague and I was extremely impressed. Our server was outstanding and attentive (nicki) and the food was delicious. I had the short rib and it was massive, melt in your mouth. My partner had the chicken and he loved it, especially the sweet potato purée. We had a Caesar salad to start, which was also very nice, perfect to share. We will be back next time we visit niagara on the lake.
Zees has never let me down when it comes to good food and good service. It is one of my favorite restaurants.
Terrific place for dining before show at the Shaw Festival.
The main course was great. The salmon was cooked to perfection. The southern chicken dinner was great. So glad we picked this restaurant.
The only thing I would have done is skipped the Zees Perfect Cheese Board 26. Although it was a lot of food I felt the quality of the cheese and crackers were lacking. Next time we will try salads.
Dessert was good and our waiter was very friendly.
The food is very good. The servers are competent but not particularly friendly. The beef short rib is very tasty but WAY too much meat for a single person to consume. Suggestions might be to either reduce the size, indicate how many ounces of meat you get so people know they are getting a huge meal, or make it for two people. I saw other people also leaving more than half of the meat on their plate. It’s a shame to waste it. The ambience is nice and the location is very handy, just across the road from the main festival theatre.
Enjoyed a pre-theatre dinner. Service was excellent and prompt. Noise level was moderate despite several large groups in a rather full dining room. Convenient location, right across the street from the Shaw Festival Theatre. We used their parking lot and just walked over to the theatre. Enjoyed a filet, cooked perfectly, and the braised short ribs.
Yummy! Beer could have been colder but the cranberry chiller was good! Pulled pork, Caeser salad, Parmesan truffle fries, salmon burger all very good👌🏼
We made reservations. Sat inside with the most awkward seating. The bench seating inside is not conducive to intimate dining when the couple next to you are inches away. The bench is lower than the other seat so very awkward to talk to one another. The patio seems more intimate and romantic but was not given an option. The appetizers were just boring. Too big and just not interesting for a restaurant that is trying to be upscale according to their prices. My main dish of short ribs was really delicious and huge. My husband ordered the salmon and it was a tiny serving of salmon, the smoked salmon was invisible in the side dish and scant vegetables for the price. So opposite? Luckily he ate half of mine.
Just disappointing. Would have liked to have seen something seasonal and unique on the menu.
Lovely experience, great & delicious cuisine, topped off being served by our excellent and friendly server Joe!
Restaurant was nice. I ordered the surf & turf, the steak was delicious, the crab that came with it was not great. Tiny little breaded pieces that were very fishy.
I can’t imagine better food. Delicious. Presented well. Amazing.
Will never go again
We enjoyed dinner after a matinee at the Shaw Festival. Great lamb and swordfish, very helpful server, a very pleasant 50th anniversary celebration.
