Restaurant was nice. I ordered the surf & turf, the steak was delicious, the crab that came with it was not great. Tiny little breaded pieces that were very fishy.
Will never go again
We enjoyed dinner after a matinee at the Shaw Festival. Great lamb and swordfish, very helpful server, a very pleasant 50th anniversary celebration.
Great food and lovely servers!! A very pleasant place to eat.
Great view of the trees the Shaw Festival property and all the flowers. If the weather is nice sit outside and enjoy the great service and excellent food. I had the short ribs and it was the best I ever had. Niagara on the Lake is my every other year 5 day get away go to and Zees is my place for at least two dinners.
Excellent service, beautifully presented food, and wonderful outdoor patio. Our "go-to" place in Niagara on the Lake.
Food was amazing. We have been to Zees for a few special occasions and have always been so pleased with the food and service. Such a wonderful restaurant! Would recommend it to anyone!
Food was fantastic. Great service fast to get food. James the bartender was fun to talk to. I enjoyed my visit.
We all had a lovely relaxing dinner and the food was excellent. Would definitely recommend it.
Superb location (5 minutes from Festival Theatre). Pleasing to the eye plus great ambiance and food/drink.
Pricey, but you''ll enjoy the experience very much.
This was another birthday lunch and theatre. Our server, Jay was excellent with just the right amount of humour and the ability to be attentive without being interruptive. The staff at this restaurant is very aware of special diets and able to recommend items that are safe. I recommend making a reservation, particularly on matinee performance days as this popular spot can be very busy. Zees is our go-to restaurant whenever we visit Shaw Festival Theatre.
Caesar salad great. Medetrainnian risoto great. Ahi tuna poor (way too thick ). Very limited wine list by glass. Only dessert was raspberry sorbet. Overall just so so
We are from Florida and have eaten here a few times over the last several years for lunch. Now we were here with a bicycle tour and immediately made reservations for a group,of us for dinner. It didn’t disappoint. We had tuna, swordfish, salads, pork belly, steak and it all was excellent. Save rooms for dessert. The death by chocolate and red velvet cake are to die for! Will be back next trip to Canada.
We were very disappointed with the Fielding Pinot Grigio wine that we ordered. I was fizzy!
We had our first date here and the food and ambiance was amazing. I would highly recommend coming here for dinner. I know we will be returning soon
We enjoyed the food at Zee's, however it was my wife's birthday and the restaurant had been given a heads up. Indeed my wife chose Zee's to celebrate her birthday. Despite this, there was no response to the special occasion. The restaurant was not overly busy and I chose not to complain, but it makes me wonder why I would state whether there is a special occasion when I book a reservation.
Very enjoyable lunch. Food is good quality although a little pricey.
Whenever we go to Niagara-on-the-Lake (usually once a year), we plan in advance to have dinner at Zee's and over the past 8 years we have always enjoyed fine food, great service & a relaxing atmosphere - our most recent visit was a memorable evening and did not disappoint.
Located across from the Shaw Festival Theater, Zees is perfect for a meal before attending an evening event at the theater. Although the dinner entree selection was not extensive, it was more than inviting with fair pricing. The quality of the food (salad, entree, dessert), the quantity, and the presentation was awesome. Server (Sean) was very attentive but not obtrusive. Wine selection was extensive. Highly recommend without any reservation or hesitation. Suggest the beef or salmon for an entree.
First time at Zees. Went there because it was close to the theatre, hence avoiding the hassle of parking. Would have wanted to be inside rather than out but were told there was a function for which inside seating was reserved. Nothing fancy about food but did enjoy the salmon burger and the parmesan fries.
Food was disappointing. Caesar salad was dry and bland. I had their swordfish “signature dish” which was nothing special.
Jay, our waiter was terrific.
We had a nice table outside.
The weather held up and it was quiet enjoyable .
The food wAs very good and everyone e njoyed what they had.
We would definitely go back again.
Fantastic food and ambiance. Excellent elections for wine. Must have the Chacouterie, chicken and swordfish!!!! Best service ever. We will be back.
My husband and I enjoyed a lovely dinner on Thursday evening. We sat out on the veranda and thoroughly enjoyed people watching, delicious wine from Flat Rock Vineyard and a wonderful meal. We will definitely be back!
Our server, Dave made the experience the very best. He was attentive, but not intrusive. He was extremely helpful and was able to answer or find the answer to each inquiry that we had. The veggie wrap that we selected was one of the most delicious gluten free options that we have enjoyed. Both of us are celiacs; so, this is very important to us. The presentation of the meal was excellent; the atmosphere is lovely year round. It is a perfect location for theatre guests as the Festival Theatre is directly across the street.
Beautiful patio to eat on, our server John was extremely knowledgeable about the menu and especially when it came to the VQA wines. We stayed until close on Monday night and never felt rushed by him while we enjoyed dessert and the evening. Short ribs were fall off the bone delicious. Thank you for a wonderful evening John. Alex and Erica
Came here for dinner during our annual stay in NOTL for our Wedding Anniversary. We’d been here once before and the service and food were excellent. Great location on Queen Street with the option for outdoor dining. We elected to dine inside as my husband prefers it.
This visit, the wine and service were very excellent, but my risotto was a huge, slightly undercooked portion, dripping with cheese...it was not good and I sent it back. To the restaurant manager’s credit, she did all the right things to fix it. My husband’s swordfish was excellent, as was my tuna appetizer, our wines, and desserts. One other bothersome detail, however, was that there were several flies hovering around our table and it was quite off-putting. We were constantly shooing them away from our food. Not sure we would return.
We love sitting on the veranda and watching people go by.
overall food was good. Good be seasoned more. Although cooked well, it was slightly bland.
Service was great and timely. Everyone was friendly and accommodating.
Highly recommend the ahi tuna!
Great short ribs braised in root beer, but the swordfish was sadly overcooked and quite tough. The risotto was delicious and the surf 'n' turf was very good. Seating on the porch was comfortable and the server was attentive and considerate.
We love Zoe’s !!! The Mediterranean risotto is to die for!!!
I was very impressed w/Zees and I would return on another visit to Niagara on the Lake. Food, service and ambiance were excellent.
Great food, great staff! Always a treat and we go often
" A great place to meet with family or friends as a prelude to a play at Shaw."
We weren’t terribly hungry, so we ordered salads and the cheese board to share. The cheese board had plenty of fruit, crackers, and condiments, but only 2 pieces of cheese! Really? Then don’t call it a cheese board. We’d eaten there last year and had a wonderful meal, but we were really disappointed this time.
The food was just not up to the standards we’ve experienced in the past, starting with a poor excuse for bread to the just OK mains. Maybe just an off night?
Delicious food, paired on the beautiful patio made for a lovely evening out
Zee's is one of our favourite locations in Niagara-on-the-Lake. There is a lovely patio with tables under umbrellas. There is the veranda - open air - with ceiling fans. There is also indoor dining. So lots of choice. The menu is quite varied with many tasty featured items. My husband and I were there for an anniversary dinner. My husband had the southern chicken with Charred Corn Vegetable Succotash. I had the Salmon Duo with tri-coloured carrots. I also had the Cappuccino Mousse with Chocolate Chip Biscotti, drizzled with Kahlua Caramel for dessert. It came with some strawberries, raspberries and blueberries, topped off with a swirl of chocolate. Absolutely delicious and so pretty to look at! We both thoroughly enjoyed our meals. I really like the fact that Zee's offers a good selection of local wines.
Newton, was our waiter and he was impeccable! He was very attentive and informative on the menu. We choose to sit outside because it was a warm day but we had to battle the bugs. The food was delicious and presented nicely. Overall, Zees Grill is Place to eat.
Very good. The only annoyance was surcharges for feta cheese.
