Zola Bistro is one of my favorite restaurants. We eat there for brunch almost every Saturday, and a current special, smoked salmon Benedict, is spectacular. We like it for dinners, too, for special occasions or just on a whim.

service was slow, one couple even walked out because they had not been seen by a waitress in a half hour, paid almost 15$ for a BLT...and it was nothing special

Just terrible all around
Short staffed so service is always very slow
Hot and muggy inside
They charge extra for things like syrup if you order pancakes
Kitchen standards seem poor because food didnt look clean

Backed up with walk-ins, our (excellent) table was ready and waiting for us. Noon on Sunday is slam-time for brunch, and service was a bit slow at the start, but friendly and attentive. It didn't matter, as we had lots of catching up to do with friends. Pricey, but worth it for the quality and diversity of the food, the friendly and upscale atmosphere. We'll be back.

Everything was very good except the French fries—cold and appeared Not to have been cooked for quite a while.

Not enough servers!!! Front of house was unable to do her job- customers were dictating where they were going to sit. We had an 11am reservation for Sunday brunch and were seated 25 Minutes late. Very chaotic. Was told they had no servers for outside, even though it was nice outside. Ann Arbor Art Fair was going on the other side of town- they should have known it would be busy. Disappointed in their business sense. Servers were working very hard.

Don’t make a reservation, they don’t honor them. We still waited 30 minutes, they seemed understaffed.

The server was great but the bar and kitchen really fell short. We waited over 20 minutes for a bottle of wine and a very long time for the food. Once the food arrived, it was cold. Not sure what the problem was but not at all what I’ve experienced on other visits.

Really fun place with excellent food. On a nice day would be good to sit outside. The view is just a parking lot, but it can still be pleasant. Inside when it's busy it is very noisy and hard to hear. That was the only downside of an otherwise really fun Sunday brunch experience. (It was too hot and muggy to enjoy being outside.)

Service was completely okay, neither adding to nor subtracting from the experience.

Zola Bistro is always a good brunch/lunch spot with a friend. I love the variety of choices—something for everyone—and the consistent high quality of the food. My shakshuka was seasoned just right and the eggs were perfect. My friend’s omelet looked amazing and she said it was. The coffee is the best! When full, it’s noisy, but not as bad as some.

Nice atmosphere, food was good not great but it was expensive. It was a fine place but I'd rather keep exploring others than return here - it's not gonna be a real go-to place... especially given the price.

The food is always incredible but the last few times the service has been very bad. Today it took over 30 minutes for us to get back our CC after the waitress took it. This would be understandable if it was busy but it was not. We also watched the waitress talk to one table for 20 minutes. Very disappointing.

Zola Bistro has become one of my go-to spots for get-togethers when I want to have a special meal or drink with a friend. One thing I love is how different it is depending on what time of day you go: breakfast and brunch feature delicious and unusual coffees and egg dishes, and dinners options include unique small plates as well as larger items. I often get the salmon burger with sweet potato fries—always good!

This was a very disappointing experience. The menu items all sound good but execution was terrible. My duxelle omelet was overcooked. The sauce with the mushrooms was congealed and nasty looking. Taste was average at best. My wife had one bite of her scrambled eggs but they were overcooked and had a bad (maybe dirty grill or pan) taste. Our guests didnt say much but only one of 4 brunch entrees even looked appealing. This was our 3rd visit and obviously previous experiences were better but it will be tough to get us to go back. Our waitress was very decent in spite of being quite busy and the coffee was good.

The clearest way I know that I'm getting older is that Zola Bistro seems louder every time I go there. It is hard to have a conversation over breakfast there it is so loud.

The food is always good, the service is always fine, and I'm never sad to have gone, but wow is it loud. :)

Our server was excellent! She was friendly, checked up on our table several times, and very accommodating, which was so helpful with a 9 month old baby at the restaurant. Food excellent. Overall, great experience this morning for brunch.

Just celebrated a birthday this past Friday night. Four of us including one vegetarian. We started by ordering appetizers consisting of the chicken satay, the cheese board, the vegetable board and the Moroccan spiced garbanzo beans. The portion sizes were small - maybe more suitable for a party of 2. We especially loved the roasted grapes that came on the cheese board. Our entrees included the grilled ottoman lamb, 2 scallops entrees and the vegetarian lentil burger w fries. The least expensive entree ( lentil burger) seemed to be the largest portion. The scallops which I ordered were beautifully presented on a beet bed with micro greens. Delicious but for $29 it was approx $10 per scallop (received 3) so a bit pricey. For dessert we ordered a flourless almond cake and a cheese cake. We also received a banana Nutella crepe for our birthday guest complete with a candle - which was a nice touch. The flourless almond cake was the winner! Overall we enjoyed our meal.

Had a 2:30 PM reservations and by 3:15 PM they still had not sat us. I spoke with the manager who didn't really seem to care that much. Gave me an email address so I can complain to the higher ups. We ended up leaving without being sat.

Server, drinks and food was great but they didn't have a good system for reservations on mother's day. Had a 12:15 pm reservation (no walk-ins, was reservation only) but didnt get seated until 1pm. The hostess seemed super disorganized and left the hostess stand for long periods of time. Guests coming in were confused and we watched several people just give up and leave.

Busy day being it was Mother's Day. The hostess handled seating professionally and calmly despite the number of people with reservations hoping to get seated. Our server was attentive and food arrived quickly. Good place to have brunch! Guests received a red rose in honor of Mother's Day - loved that!

Restaurant was more crowded than we expected for an early evening dinner, but we were seated promptly and comfortably, and our server was helpful, accessible and warm. We had the roasted vegetable starter, which was quite nice, and two fish dishes. Mine was outstanding - rainbow trout with red cabbage and potatoes. The halibut was less impressive but quite nice. The noise level rose to unpleasant over the hour or so we were there, but I hope this is not going to be a trend, as it has not been an issue for us in the past. I am delighted that this restaurant, in this somewhat out of the way location, seems to be so successful.

I would recommend this restaurant because service was good and it’s clean, comfortable, and convenient. However, some of the menu items are not good (even though they are also expensive). I had the huevos rancheros last September and they were amazing. This week, with a new recipe, they were not good. They eggs were very greasy, they chips were stale, and the beans were mealy. It was a waste of my money. I will come again and try ordering something different. But if my next order is not good either, I’m likely to just go somewhere else for lunch dates in the future.

We had brunch at 11:00 on a Sunday. We were seated right away in line with our reservation even though the place was packed. A huge plus in my book. Service was good allowing for how busy it was but could be a bit more attentive. Just a minor observation. It is very noisy due to the openness of the space and tables are close together. Not a problem for us but if the lady next to you has on a heavy perfume you will be well aware. It is pricey if you plan to enjoy cocktails with your meal. The menu is varied and we look forward to trying new things on our next visit.
