Took a very long time to get food and bill. Was a Wednesday and seemed busy for lunch so possibly wasn’t enough staff on hand
Only complaint was that the hostess was busing tables, which meant a long wait just because tables weren’t cleared yet.
We used to love Zola’s! We had a reservation for 5 for a birthday for brunch. We had very poor service. We were seated and not given silverware. We were served our coffee and tea, still no silverware. We requested silverware, still no silverware! By time we received it our coffee was cold. Our food was lukewarm. Our server was not attentive - no drink refills, no ketchup, no syrup! Everything was cold before we received what we needed. It was incredibly crowded and noisy and staff seemed overwhelmed. We spent over $100 and got lukewarm food and poor service! I was very disappointed!
I like Cafe Zola and Zola Bistro also used to be good. But unfortunately the service is slow. It took the hostess 10 minutes just to come back to talk to me. They seem to be regular understaffed and the staff is occasionally not very kind.
Yummy breakfast as usual. Great service, and with a 9 AM arrival we just beat the Sunday breakfast crowds.
Booked through OpenTable specifying food allergies. Hostess was aware of and attentive to reported food allergies. We told our server of those food allergies and placed an order for an appetizer. She assured us that what we ordered would be OK based on the food allergies we reported, but when the food arrived, it failed on two very obvious points. Frustrated, we went through the exercise again, repeating the review of food allergies and ordered another appetizer so everyone in our group would be able to have something to eat. As the appetizer arrived, it failed on one obvious point. While the cocktails were absolutely delicious, we had ZERO CONFIDENCE in our server and did not trust her or the kitchen staff to accurately process our allergy concerns. So we left without ever getting dinner. Extremely disappointing!!! Food allergies are nothing to mess with, people. If you can't get it straight, you have no business being in this business!!!!!
Great pre game breakfast .. a little pricey but the quality and intresting menu is a big hit !!!!
All 3 of us loved our meals. Service was perfect! Restaurant was clean and modern.
Food was delicious! Grilled vegetable plate was amazing! My wife loved her salmon as I loved my swordfish! Our waitress Jessica was fantastic! She was super nice and personable! Can’t wait to go back!
enjoyed a nice night on the patio with a good draft beer and delicious thin crust pizza
We eat brunch at the Bistro almost every Saturday. My latest favorite dish is smoked salon Benedict, which have spinach with the smoked salmon, Enlish muffin, poached eggs, and sauce. yum! The smoked salmon omelet is great, too, as is he Southwest omelet. The lunch menu, with sandwiches and salads is very good, and the dinners are, too. My favorite place to Eaton Ann Arbor.
This place was recommended by a work colleague who used to live in Ann Arbor. We were looking for a great breakfast place to meet some friends, and it did not disappoint. We all ended up sharing bites of one another's food, and they were all delicious.
I had the Farmhouse Omelette, and the onions and peppers on it were grilled perfectly. My wife had the Nutella Banana Crepe, which is usually her go to option when we go anywhere that serves it and she loved it. Our friends had the Strawberry Banana Waffle and the Southwestern Omelette and they both really enjoyed it.
Good-sized portions and everything was made very well. We'd definitely go back if we are ever in Ann Arbor again.
Great food, great service. Thanks for the nice evening!
Service was incredibly slow for 2 people. I ordered a crepe that was mediocre at best. Place was packed. Overall not impressed for the cost.
I've been to Zola Bistro at least 5 times now. I love their food, specifically the kobe burger, monte cristo, and kale and apple salad. They have great bread and fries (also sweet potato). I haven't had their breakfast but many people I've gone with have and they really like it. They have good and unique cocktails as well as a wide tea and coffee selection. They also have fresh smoothies but I think they are a bit overpriced. The rest of the menu is a good value though. The ambiance is bustling and a little loud but it's fin for gathering with friends. That being said it is always packed for brunch and lunch on the weekends, make a reservation or be prepared to wait. Service is just ok, but it is normally because they are packed and the staff is running around. I would recommend going for sure but not if you are in a rush or want to have a quiet conversation.
As good as Zola B’s can be, their prices continue to be much too high. Extra for bread? Sodas about $3? Coffee....other than that and the din of noise, it’s good.
Perfect for a quick tasty lunch
Great spot for a quick lunch at Arbor Hills. Several omelette and crepes options that all look very good and tasty. I tried the artichoke omelette and it was really good. The menu is also the same as Cafe Zola downtown.
Zola Bistro is one of my favorite restaurants. We eat there for brunch almost every Saturday, and a current special, smoked salmon Benedict, is spectacular. We like it for dinners, too, for special occasions or just on a whim.
service was slow, one couple even walked out because they had not been seen by a waitress in a half hour, paid almost 15$ for a BLT...and it was nothing special
Just terrible all around
Short staffed so service is always very slow
Hot and muggy inside
They charge extra for things like syrup if you order pancakes
Kitchen standards seem poor because food didnt look clean
Backed up with walk-ins, our (excellent) table was ready and waiting for us. Noon on Sunday is slam-time for brunch, and service was a bit slow at the start, but friendly and attentive. It didn't matter, as we had lots of catching up to do with friends. Pricey, but worth it for the quality and diversity of the food, the friendly and upscale atmosphere. We'll be back.
Everything was very good except the French fries—cold and appeared Not to have been cooked for quite a while.
Not enough servers!!! Front of house was unable to do her job- customers were dictating where they were going to sit. We had an 11am reservation for Sunday brunch and were seated 25 Minutes late. Very chaotic. Was told they had no servers for outside, even though it was nice outside. Ann Arbor Art Fair was going on the other side of town- they should have known it would be busy. Disappointed in their business sense. Servers were working very hard.
Don’t make a reservation, they don’t honor them. We still waited 30 minutes, they seemed understaffed.
The server was great but the bar and kitchen really fell short. We waited over 20 minutes for a bottle of wine and a very long time for the food. Once the food arrived, it was cold. Not sure what the problem was but not at all what I’ve experienced on other visits.
Great, as usual. We took out of town friends for brunch, and they really liked it,.
Really fun place with excellent food. On a nice day would be good to sit outside. The view is just a parking lot, but it can still be pleasant. Inside when it's busy it is very noisy and hard to hear. That was the only downside of an otherwise really fun Sunday brunch experience. (It was too hot and muggy to enjoy being outside.)
Service was completely okay, neither adding to nor subtracting from the experience.
Server was slow to come to the table. Was MIA for 20 minutes.
Zola Bistro is always a good brunch/lunch spot with a friend. I love the variety of choices—something for everyone—and the consistent high quality of the food. My shakshuka was seasoned just right and the eggs were perfect. My friend’s omelet looked amazing and she said it was. The coffee is the best! When full, it’s noisy, but not as bad as some.
Jessyca was amazingly knowledgeable. Everything she recommended we tried even down to the wine pairing. Delicious!!
We enjoyed restaurant week. Job well done! Glad to see the new items on menu hi how exceed our expectation.
Nice atmosphere, food was good not great but it was expensive. It was a fine place but I'd rather keep exploring others than return here - it's not gonna be a real go-to place... especially given the price.
The food is always incredible but the last few times the service has been very bad. Today it took over 30 minutes for us to get back our CC after the waitress took it. This would be understandable if it was busy but it was not. We also watched the waitress talk to one table for 20 minutes. Very disappointing.
Robyn provided amazing service to my family and I. She was attentive and was able to answer a myriad of questions we had. She is an asset to Zola Bistro.
It was fantastic!
Zola Bistro has become one of my go-to spots for get-togethers when I want to have a special meal or drink with a friend. One thing I love is how different it is depending on what time of day you go: breakfast and brunch feature delicious and unusual coffees and egg dishes, and dinners options include unique small plates as well as larger items. I often get the salmon burger with sweet potato fries—always good!
This was a very disappointing experience. The menu items all sound good but execution was terrible. My duxelle omelet was overcooked. The sauce with the mushrooms was congealed and nasty looking. Taste was average at best. My wife had one bite of her scrambled eggs but they were overcooked and had a bad (maybe dirty grill or pan) taste. Our guests didnt say much but only one of 4 brunch entrees even looked appealing. This was our 3rd visit and obviously previous experiences were better but it will be tough to get us to go back. Our waitress was very decent in spite of being quite busy and the coffee was good.
The clearest way I know that I'm getting older is that Zola Bistro seems louder every time I go there. It is hard to have a conversation over breakfast there it is so loud.
The food is always good, the service is always fine, and I'm never sad to have gone, but wow is it loud. :)
