Le J. Gilbert's est un steakhouse chic et décontracté servant du bœuf faisandé cuit sur un gril au feu de bois de mesquite. This was the best meal and dining experience we've ever had! Went for my husband's birthday. Enjoyed patio dining all by ourselves. The food was incredible, especially the filet. The service was the best we've ever had anywhere! So nice, so attentive. The GM brought/poured our wine and was so nice to chat with us. She even brought my husband a piece of birthday cake with a candle! Very unexpected and so sweet! We can't wait to go back! Best. Date night. Ever.

J Gilbert’s is one of the best KC Steakhouses in the city. Outstanding quality in meat, creative chef staff and outstanding service. Their wait staff is second to none - highly informed and able to help you decide if you are having trouble choosing what to order. We celebrated our anniversary there recently and not have been more happy. My in-laws each had prime rib (excellent choice) which was tender and the cut was to their temp likeness. App and sides are always delicious and they did not disappoint . . . My bride had salmon - med rare and its temp was perfect. I opted for the Filet Oscar special which melted in your mouth. J Gilbert’s always makes a favorable and memorable impression. Our server, Alex was not only knowledgeable but great fun as well. He helped make the perfect evening. Highly recommended without hesitation. One of the best in town.

The food was great. We were celebrating our friend’s 80th birthday. We initially got seated at a table for 4, but the lighting was so poor at that particular table we couldn’t read the menu. We asked if they had table lamps we could use since we saw some booths with them, but our server said they didn’t have any. The lamps we saw on several tables were built in. Our server suggested using our phone lights! After trying that we asked to move. They reluctantly moved us and we ended up with a better server. They were very busy so the service was a bit slow but it was not a problem for us. We had an enjoyable evening once we were moved. We all enjoyed our meals, the grilled shrimp and crab cakes and crème brûlée particularly stood out.
